Vitamin C was first identified in 1928 as ascorbic acid. Being a water
soluble vitamin it needs to be replaced frequently in the body. Many
animals have the advantage of producing their vitamin C requirements
but as human beings we do not have that luxury. In order to have
optimal health we need to replenish our vitamin C levels by the foods
that we eat or by supplementing. Let's look at some of the things that
this important vitamin does for us.
